THE WITCHER book series
BAPTISM OF FIRE
50$ coin
The iconic Witcher series returns with the fifth one-kilogram Baptism of Fire coin, minted from pure 999 silver. The coin is decorated with a unique stone - yellow agate, imitating the sun in the sky and a banner, and the high relief gives the coin depth and allows collectors to be transported to the Witcher world.
The first coin in the series increased in price by 400%!
The scenes shown on the coin, both on the reverse and on the obverse of the coin, are presented very dynamically and allow the recipient to delve into the adventures of Geralt of Rivia.
The reverse of the coin shows the scene of the fight for the bridge on the Yaruga at the moment when Geralt and Cahir kidnapped the troops of Queen Meve, who were retreating under the pressure of the Nilfgaardians. In the center, the witcher Geralt thrusts his sword at an approaching enemy, shortly after casting the Aard spell, which ignited fire and confusion in the Nilfgaardian ranks. Behind him, Cahir, on his captured mount, encourages the Lyrian army to fight.
In the foreground, a standard-bearer from Emperor Emhyr's chosen regiment clutches the imperial banner with a burning sun fluttering above the battle noise.
The burning sun is the emblem of the Nilfgaardian empire. The reverse shows both the shield of a soldier fighting the witcher and the agate decoration towering over the entire scene.
The obverse of the coin depicts the adventure of Geralt's team while crossing the Yaruga River, where they fall into the middle of an armed conflict between Nilfgaard troops and Queen Meve's Lyrian partisans. The witcher and his company, chased along the shore by soldiers, try to keep the ferry in the middle of the current so as not to fall into enemy hands.
The coin was minted in a limited edition of 200 pieces - it is a true global unique.
The Gdańsk Mint is the only numismatic company in the world that issues coins with the image of the book witcher, thanks to a license granted by the outstanding writer Andrzej Sapkowski.
